Downtown Delray Sees Retail Renaissance

June 3rd, 2014

Downtown Delray Beach is seeing fresh interest from national retail chains.

For instance, Urban Outfitters, the clothing chain, recently signed a deal on Atlantic Avenue. And sources told the Palm Beach Post that BCBG, the women’s clothing store, will soon ink a deal downtown.

The arrival of new national retailers symbolizes the general growth Delray’s downtown is seeing. Recently, a wide range of new cuisine, hotels and apartments have risen in the area – not to mention the mixed-use Atlantic Crossing by the Intracoastal Waterway.

“People have discovered Delray. It’s always been a jewel in south Palm Beach County. As more people have discovered it, the numbers are there to attract national tenants,” said Diane Colonna, executive director of the Delray Beach Community Redevelopment Agency.
