Boca Raton’s Sugar Sand Park playground opening is Saturday
March 7th, 2017
Saturday is expected to be busy for Sugar Sand Park as officials ready to cut the ribbon on a revamped science playground.
The park, at 300 S. Military Trail, will officially open its Science Playground at 10 a.m. just before food trucks and a science show roll in.
The $2 million interactive playground was scheduled to open last week, but cold weather impeded construction and pushed the date back.
But come Saturday, children will get to check out a new fully accessible jungle gym.
Visitors will also be able to dig for dinosaur fossils and learn how much they weigh on different planets. Other features include a new toddler area, a DNA-strand path, a water misting area and a xylophone station.
At 11 a.m., the circus-theme science show will teach attendees about physics and other scientific concept. Tickets for the show can be purchased at willowtheatre.org/its-circus-its-science.
