Boca Raton-based MDVIP has a new affiliate physicians’ group in Pennsylvania, where it already works with more than 30 businesses to extend its reach in the concierge medicine industry.

MDVIP manages a network of more than 700 physicians across more than 40 states and, for a monthly fee, makes these doctors available to its more than 250,000 patients. Members get exclusive access to the physicians, including their cellphone numbers, and can use a secure messaging and a personalized health information system.

In Philadelphia, MDVIP gained a new partner with Dr. Vicki Bralow, who opened a MDVIP-affiliated primary care practice there. Bralow said the business is designed to take advantage of MDVIP’s nationwide network to deliver health care that emphasizes more than just treatment of illness.

“Joining MDVIP will allow me to spend even more time with patients on preventative care, managing medical conditions and creating a personalized wellness plan that helps them achieve their health goals,” Bralow said.

Other benefits of an MDVIP-affiliated practice include same- or next-day appointments that start on time and last an average of 30 minutes. Physicians are reachable 24/7 by cell phone. If patients have an emergeny need while traveling, their physician can help arrange care with a local hospital, pharmacy or doctor, which may include an MDVIP-affiliated physician. MDVIP said the company consistently retains more than 90 percent of its members.

Boston private equity firm Summit Partners acquired MDVIP from Procter & Gamble Co. (NYSE: PG) for an undisclosed amount in 2014.
