Ice rink developer buys 4 acres in South Florida

September 13th, 2019

A group that plans to build an ice rink has acquired 3.8 acres in Boca Raton.

Dizengoff Boca Raton LLC sold the vacant property at 900 Peninsula Corporate Circle for $3.75 million to Peninsula Ice LLC, managed by Hal M. Jacovitz and Jacob Dinov in Delray Beach. The seller was represented by attorney Daniel Kaskel of Sachs Sax Caplan.

The closing date was extended a few days due to Hurricane Dorian nearing Florida, he added.

“Coordinating the proposed use with a pending site plan application presented a challenge,” Kaskel said. “A property may have only one pending application for development approvals at a given time, and buyer requested the opportunity to begin its development approval process in advance of closing. As the transaction progressed and the buyer committed to moving forward, the seller withdrew its site plan application, allowing buyer to pursue its approvals.”

As previously covered by the Business Journal, Peninsula Ice LLC plans to build the Boca Ice and Fine Arts Center, which would total 75,262 square feet with two ice skating rinks.
