ADMA Biologics Joins Boca’s Corporate Sphere

June 13th, 2017

ADMA Biologics, a publicly traded biopharmaceutical company, completed their acquisition of two lab processing facilities in Boca Raton’s Park at Broken Sound last week. The $20 million facilities were last under possession of Biotest Pharmaceuticals Corporation.

Based out of New Jersey, ADMA Biologics’ Boca Raton purchase is their most recent expansion south. ADMA has two “Biocenter” locations, which are licensed facilities specializing in the collection of human plasma used to make medications for the prevention of diseases. The Biocenters are located in Marietta and Norcross, Georgia.

Founded in 2004, ADMA Biologics works tirelessly to create, “superior products for immunodeficient patients at risk for infection.” They were recently named one of New Jersey’s fifty fastest growing companies.

ADMA Biologics is making strides in the biopharmaceutical industry, creating the need for more space. Their lead product candidate, a drug called RI-002, is designed to prevent “serious bacterial infections, such as bacterial pneumonia, osteomyelitis, and bacterial sepsis.” ADMA completed a key Phase III clinical study and is advancing research and production of the drug.

The groundbreaking therapy will aid “immunocompromised patients” with Primary Immunodeficiency Diseases (PIDD). It is derived from human plasma from normal blood donors.

The pharmaceutical company now holds 126,433 square feet of research space in Boca Raton. Located just north of Yamato Road, ADMA Biologics is the most recent public company to expand in Boca. TransUnion purchased office space for its information analytics field in the Boca Corporate Center and Campus.

ADMA Biologics new facility stands right next to the GEO Group, the “global leader in evidence-based rehabilitation.” Along with TransUnion, the GEO Group is traded on the New York Stock Exchange. SBA Communications is another Boca Raton-based company traded on the Nasdaq market. Most recently, Celsius Holdings Inc., a Boca energy drink company, began trading on the Nasdaq. Finally, office supply giant Office Depot is headquartered in Boca.

ADMA was named one of the best places to work in New Jersey in 2016. As more companies move to Boca, office rent figures are expected to rise 15 percent over the next five years. ADMA Biologics’ new office space in Boca will help employ more as office rents in Boca continue to rise.
